Build a new rock garden at Betty Ford Alpine Gardens

We invite you to help us expand the tufa rock garden at Betty Ford Alpine Gardens in Vail, CO with Phase II of this special project.

Building on the success of Phase I, this next phase will enhance this specialist rock garden featuring iconic tufa rock—a perfect growing material for rare alpine plants that can survive only at the highest elevations. Phase II will allow us to further develop this collection, strengthening our role as an important resource and repository for these rugged mountain species.
Visitors exploring the expanded garden will delight in discovering small, hardy plants typically found only on remote mountain peaks, inaccessible to most people and plant lovers. Together, both phases create a living tribute to the remarkable resilience of alpine flora.
